Rail fan since age 4. I lived my first 9 years in Clifton NJ near the Normal Ave. crossing in Montclair NJ where I would see a bunch of ErieLackawanna trains. My grandparents also lived in Elmwood Park with the Bergen County Line right at the end of their street. As the other grandparents lived in Garfield trips back and forth would be taken on Midland Ave. at Passaic Jct. where I would see an occasional NYS&W train along with the EL trains.
A move in 1976 ended most train sightings but in the late 80's I began to run into Susquehanna trains on US 202 while commuting to Ramapo College. In the early to mid 90's I would wait up late on Friday nights to listen for the SLN 99's horn blasting through Hawthorne. I would go to the old brick station in Pompton Lakes to see the stack trains.
I am still kicking myself for not having a VHS or VHSC camcorder back then :(
Having two jobs in the mid to late 90's limited my train spotting and going through several job layoffs in the 2000's put train sighting to a stop.
That would change in the late 2000's. I found steady employment.....NOT related to my photographic field I was in during the 90's. I got a camcorder and joined this site. First as a video surrealist under the MarcusVermilion username (I pulled that one out of my a##).
Soon I was doing train videos and I decided to make this channel for all my train videos.
