Woody hired a bunch of young turks out of the great college jazz programs and found a way to blend some of rock into big band jazz. Woody's work in the late 60's and 70's was just so dynamic. He really saved the best for last.

The second half of this show features performances by the "Divas In Red" and they are all great but this is the best. Watch the faces of the others in each performance. There is tru respect and admiration from one pro to another.
I remembered hearing this back in the '70s but did not have a record of it and then years later I found it on the internet and bought it. Love the orchestrations. Jon was from the Barbadoes and he died several years ago.
