@MrDemilord Yeah true. It doesn't sound that much like it anyway, it's just that one of the synths that MacNeil uses in this song sounds quite like one of the synths from that song.

@moikaldervil Go into the Youtube search box and put in 'Broken Glass Park'. That's their latest song (only performed live thus far, but there are some good recordings of it). I think you will find that he is still very much capable of singing using his 'old voice'. Got chills listening to it!

@MrOrdinar I don't know, the current keyboard player (Andy Gillespie) does a fabulous job of emulating early 80s MacNeil on 'Broken Glass Park' (studio version to be released as part of Greatest Hits box set later this year). Check it out, they've played it live quite a few times.

@MarxxxxExpo69 The other members *could* reform and use a similar bassist to Karn (Pino Palladino, anyone?) but it wouldn't quite be the same. However, it would still be nice to see the other four back together IMHO.

This is of course the re-recorded version from 2000 which was done so for Sylvian's compilation album of that year. His voice isn't quite as strong and provocative here as it was on the original Japan recording, in my honest opinion...

By crossing the tracks, they were the wrong side of the sun. Hardly worth the risk just for a dark, shadowy picture.

@MrDemilord Not a fan of 'Stagefright' to be honest. Doesn't really sound like the Simple Minds I remember from way back. 'Broken Glass Park' is an absolute classic though, cannot wait to hear the recorded version...

@neil1963creed Thanks, I wasn't aware he had written a book. Will have to look into that. Have you heard the new Duran album? There's a song on there called 'The Man Who Stole A Leopard' which was undoubtedly influenced by Japan's 'Methods of Dance', especially the drums.
