This is JesuOtaku's review of Princess Tutu. Princess Tutu is produced by Hal Film Maker and available from ADV Films. This review is unofficial and entirely silly to boot. All media is used for purposes of review and commentary under terms of fair use.
Software I employ, if you're curious: Sony Vegas for editing. It's pretty smexy. I also use AutoGK and various AVS programs for encoding and converting different sources. They're pretty cool, too.
This one's even lat-ER! I just have not been able to get on the ball lately, it seems. Actually, the writing for this review was some of the most difficult I've had to do because I wasn't sure how to convey just how special this series is without either sounding like a dopey fangirl or downplaying it so much that it seems like a kiddy/girly thing. I really have not seen anything like Princess Tutu before, although I would like to, and I think I attained my goal of explaining what makes this show so visually and emotionally rich.
This is my fifth favorite anime of all time. Out of my top 5 now, I guess that means only my all time FAVORITE hasn't been reviewed yet, although people do keep requesting it...My sister and I got to watch this together, which is a rarity because of her young age, and she loved it. I think it's funny that we both liked the darkest and most tragic characters: I am a total Fakir girl, and my sister adores Rue most of all. Well, I liked all the characters except Pike and Lilie. (Even then, Lilie, the most nasty of the two, was pretty funny time to time just because she was sooo sadistic.)
My sister took ballet for a couple years, but that was...several years ago. So like me and martial arts, her technique is BSed a bit. I think she still looks cute. She seemed ecstatic that she would get to do something she loved for one of my videos, but then almost got too embarrassed to do it and I had to prod her a bit. I really am playing DDR at the end there, and I sped it up simply because it cracks me up to do so, but the song was pretty fast. The song? Cruel Angel's Thesis from Neon Genesis Evangelion, actually! =D
