The promotion and development of tourism in Dubai is spearheaded by the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM). DTCM plans and implements an integrate programme of international promotions and publicity activities such as exhibition participation, marketing visits, presentations and road shows, familiarization and assisted visits, advertising, brochure production and distribution, media relations and enquiry-information services. The DTCM is also the principal authority for the planning, supervision and development of tourism within the Emirate.
Underlining the importance attached at the highest level to tourism development, the department's Chairman is HH General Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and UAE Minister for Defence. The Director-General is Khalid A. bin Sulayem.
