I am glad I grew up then too. I loved watching The Johnny Cash Show and Johnny lived in Casitas Springs just up from Ventura, CA with his first wife. I didn't live too far from there when I was a teen.

When I was a little girl the Rock Island line went right by my house on it's way from Kankakee where it originated from. Just like it went by Johnny Cash's boyhood home in Southern Arkansas back from New Orleans.

Gene has been my favorite since I was a teenager and he will always be my #1 singer, He was unique in his song writing, voice, and musical arrangements. I am so thankful he left us with so many songs to listen to.

I saw Frank Sinatra Jr. two or three times ,years ago, when he used to play the lounges of some of the casinos in Las Vegas. He was extremely good,, but I wondered why he never sang any songs other than those made famous by his father? Or did he sing others? Did he ever write song lyrics himself?
