The two main diseases of this world are IGNORANCE and INDIFFERENCE (lack of empathy).

Ignorance allows you to think that your country [or ethnic group / ideology / faith ...] is BETTER than someone else's.
It creates a "THEY" in opposition to an "US".
Indifference allows you to start putting down [or exploit / discriminate / exterminate ...] those identified as "THEY".

Ignorance allows you to claim you are doing all that to make the world of the "US" a better place.
Indifference allows you to become an S.O.B. [abuser / butcher / murderer...] with a clear conscience.

IGNORANCE and INDIFFERENCE allow the dream of UTOPIA. Attempts to realize it will lead directly to the Concentration camp, Gulag, Laogai... all those places where dreams and lives are destroyed for nothing.
