So all of the quartets from my various videos decided to get together and try something new: choral music! So they grabbed a few friends and went to it :)
No, but seriously.... Eric Whitacre is a genius, and this song is beautiful. I would love you forever if you shared this with your friends/family/people you know/people you don't know/people you hate... you get the point... just show everybody :)
You can click on almost any of the quartets (near the beginning of the video) and it'll link you to the video that the quartet was in
I love feedback almost as much as i love new subscribers, let me know if you want me to do more choral videos or if I should stick to barbershop (remember this is my first choral, so they would get better)
as always there is no autotune

High Quatraine Exposure is an original electronic experimental music composition ultilising various kinds of software synthesizer packages and treatments to create an interesting up-tempo form that gradually transforms into a darker ambient manifestation. The Linux Multimedia Studio (LMMS) suite was used to create the reference framework for the composition. A rhythm track was composed first with heavy phasing to impart a "breathing" oscillation. The next track was a varied percussion combination whereby some of the elements were re-pitched with added reverb and assembled ina semi-random arrangement. A bass pulse together with high-frequency chirp-like beats is used as an additional rhythm source. To create the feel of a choir, a synthesizer patch played with chords makes the desired looped sequence. Additional high-frequency sequences appear at regular intervals to add to the main melody line. A piano-like patch plays a chord that creates a sequence that itself is processed through feedback echo. It is the distinctive piano chords that gives the composition its "up-tempo" feel. The next element is a rising tone made up of filtered waveforms. Ethereal "twinkle" tones processed through a deep reverb create the somewhat random "icicle" percussive sequence. An additonal LMMS sequence was ring-modulated, and to this another ring-modulated sequence - the original rising tones - ring-modulated and processed by a sweeping phaser. The effect of this sounds like a baying animal or unearthly howling. The choral voice element is a sample played in a chord with reverb. Percussive sinewave hits create the "xylophone-like" pulses heard towards the end of the composition. An additional sinewave melody creates the strange ethereal melody played in conjunction with the previous sinewave sequence. The conclusion of the work features a sinewave melody that has been ring-modulated, processed by chorus and slowed down. The random metallic "crashes" were created by the Elektrostudio Analog Pack ESline keyboard. As an accent, sinewave pitch bends are used, and at the end - a TS-404 synthesizer sequence. The visuals feature the smiling faces of various kinds of international students colourised and solarised. Various linear modulations flow - blended and embossed. superimposed on top of all this are additional point and zoom graphics. The visual composite is very psychedelic and surreal, the inspiration - an evolvement of what the EMS Spectron Video Synthesizer might produce in a multi-layered video environment.
