How many earthquakes of its rated performance would this system endure before failure. I'm from New Zealand, (also known as the Shaky Isles). In Christchurch, there are 3-4 magnitude 3 - 4 every day, with magnitude 5 & sometimes 6 every few months.

@d3dhemmer YES. There was an old english engine made like this for Commer. It was called a "Commer knocker" engine. A TS3 I think They were a 3 cylinder, six piston version of this, and had large bell cranks on the ends of the rods connected to a central offset crankshaft..

@hiphop161100 the reason they're expensive is because they test them like this - to KNOW that they will work the way that they are supposed to. It's part of the deal with a rolls royce engine.

Holy Cow! That would be quite a squeeze, getting a 3408 into a truck. I'm picking this would have had to have the cab under side modified to fit it in. I work for a CAT dealer in NZ, so know how big and heavy these are. What's the engine serial no?

@decoysk It would completely COVER and flatten your harley. The more powerful versions of this engine weigh a tad over 23000 pounds - just under 10 tons!. With generator (these were often a genset as well) this would be closer to about 14 - 15 tons all up. Your harley would be a couple of inches ...

They often are, as it's really difficult to overtake, when evry one has similar performances. It comes down to position in traffic & BALLS!
