As Dylan is supposedly listening to Donovan, he's jittery and fidgeting his arms and legs out of rhythm; a narcissistic meltdown. Finally, the level of applause following each performance tells it all. Afterward, Dylan sounds like a clumsily amateur guitarist and falsely arrogant singer.

Umm. . . why does the arpeggio reach its highest note at 1:21, but his finger goes to that fret almost a second later at 1:22? It looks finger-synched, not live. . . Then again, his voice in the beginning isn't quite in synch, either, so perhaps the whole video is off. Which, if I want to app...

goldenstarpcfl: Oh, I've always thought 3 Dog Night did some fine blue-eyed soul, and this song was a fine example. I'm pretty sure some producer told them the song was too passionate, too earnest, and they had to look like teeny-bops for this particular TV show. To me, the great song and power...
Still, he was a quite clever word-smith, a mediocre guitarist and singer, and certainly the worst harmonica player in recorded history. I love what he accomplished - being in the right place at the right time - but still regard him as overrated. And that's my final word on the subject.
