Thanks for visiting my channel, I hope you find it interesting....
About Me:

I'm your typical amateur guitarist. I started playing classical acoustic at 8 years old, studied music, took lessons for a few years, etc, then didn't touch a guitar 'til I was at Uni. Then I bought my first electric (Aria Pro II Cat) and began to teach myself the music I have a passion for. Upgrading to a Gibson LP Studio, I had a year or so gigging with a Uni blues/rock band, then didn't touch a guitar again seriously for about 12 years.

I got back into it five years ago when I rekindled my interest by selling the Gibson and buying my first Jackson, the RR3 Rhoads.

Apart from a brief excursion with a beautiful ESP LTD Viper 1000 Deluxe, I became obsessed with the Jackson Rhoads models; I imported a Kevin Bond Signature model from the US to allow me to quickly cover alternate tunings, then bought an RR5 after convincing myself that I also needed a neck pickup option in dropped tunings. During the last two years I've been playing for local rock/metal covers band "Prophecy" and treated myself to an Epiphone Les Paul Custom (breaking away from my Rhoads obsession!), but straight away I swapped out the stock pickups and replaced them with something hotter. My next addition was a stunning and brutal Schecter Hellraiser Special C-1 FR, and I've now sold the RR3 and Kevin Bond Rhoads and bought an Epiphone Les Paul Custom Limited Edition Midnight loaded with active pickups.

Amp-wise I've gone through a Laney 100W tranny, a Laney LC-15, a couple of 50W/75W Marshall Valvestates, then a Peavey Valveking 112 which I modded with a Celestion G12T-75 speaker, and just recently I upgraded to an Engl Screamer 50W Combo, which I swapped out the Celestion for a smoother Eminence Guvnor speaker. I generally prefer not to use effects pedals; a Zakk Wah is all I use, occasionally.

I know the quality of my audio recording isn't the best; I don't use my PC, I don't use any editing software, I don't use a decent mic. I just record in one take using a basic Canon Powershot SD750 digital camera, then upload, warts and all.

My taste in music ranges from finger-picked acoustic, through blues/rock through classic/thrash/power metal to melodic-death/gothic/symphonic metal; Simon & Garfunkel through Gary Moore through Priest/Metallica/Helloween to Kalmah/Sirenia/Nightwish/Mercenary.

I especially enjoy the neo-classical melodic shredders such as Randy Rhoads, Yngwie Malmsteen and Alexi Laiho, the tight riffing of Jon Schaffer and James Hetfield, and the immense natural talent of Zakk Wylde, Slash and Gary Moore.

Current Guitars:
Schecter Hellraiser Special C1-FR
Jackson RR5 Rhoads
Epiphone Les Paul Vintage Custom with IronGear Hot Slag Humbuckers
Epiphone Les Paul Custom Limited Edition Midnight with EMG 81 pickups.

Tabs:
I get all of my tabs from either Ultimate-Guitar or I buy the official tab books, although I like to leave room for my own interpretations and what sounds right to my ear. I typically spend a few evenings learning and practicing a new track; anything from 2 hours to 10 or more, usually depending on length and complexity of solo parts.

If you like my covers, please rate, comment and subscribe to my channel. While there's interest I'll keep 'em coming.

I get too many requests to deal with, but if I like your suggestion I may just do it! I'm always happy to help any beginners with advice on playing or gear; just drop me a line and leave a respectable comment or two on my covers in return!

Hot Tip #1:
If you are seriously learning to play, use a metronome!
Hot Tip #2:
Buy just a mid priced guitar from a reputable manufacturer but spend as much as you can on a decent amp; even second-hand!
