For those who are wondering why I haven't made a video for a long time or been responding to my Emails etc, it's because I've been down and out. I heard this song and thought it was an important message so although I think I attempted it too early ( a good portion of what you're hearing is from another take I did a while back) It was worth doing.
Here's to you and yours...and figuring out early on what I found out all too late in life...and that's that the only thing that matters is service....and loving others. REALLY caring for others. I've heard those kind of statements before, but worldly success was still my goal...just...balanced with everything else....a 50/50 deal. Now I see love..compassion and service as everything. But success as a blessing for our-self and others when the motivation is love. Motivation....why we do what we do. ??? Everything else...that really doesn't matter in the big picture....just a means to the end. Money....status....fame. It's all crap if it's for personal worth and value...and you can't take it with you. I now see it not as something you keep....you hold and exhalt yourself with....Prove yourself with..(which by the way..nothing you can do or say..or learn will change your value and worth) I see all this stuff as things you can use to serve and bless others with now. I know the Flatts do concerts for ST. Jude which I'd like to give a portion of my records to...Garth..make a wish foundation etc. How cool to have a platform to give even more. success...the fruits of our labors... It's all just a means to an end.....peace....happiness...love...and to be shared.....even music. I hope you enjoyed this track.
I hope at the end of the day,...although I make many mistakes...that I blessed as many people as I could while on this spinning ball we call earth... because although we have regrets about life, my biggest one wouldn't be not catching the biggest fish...or missing that sure fire home run...it would be knowing I didn't help someone in genuine need when I could have. When I let a jaded, selfish....or negative thought or doubt keep me from being willing to take that risk and see the difference love and generosity makes. God willing may we all live our lives from that perspective. One day we will.

p.s. I realized years ago that external things weren't the answers etc. It's all about love. Before recently, I had a good perspective on life as I know people with LOTS of money who are miserable...or just...are waiting to be content when "this" happens etc. But almost dying gives you a WHOLE new perspective on life. I'm just grateful it was a re-focusing of what I already knew, instead of a WHOLE new picture. =0)
