Point the mics at the center of the drums.

Don't close-mike your overheads especially if they're condenser mics. You want a foot or tow off the cymbals . This may change if you're using a dynamic like a 57 or i-5.

1. The StudioLive has to be connected to a macbook that has access to a wireless network, correct for the iPad app to work, correct?

2. Will the iPad app recall stored scenes and mix presets?

I have two 16.4.2 boards. I have used them 1-2X a week for two years with absolutely zero issues. I'm hoping to start using the iPad app this month.

There are six external aux sends and two internal, dedicated sends with very useable delays and reverbs. So, total of eight.

Standard tuning 440 hz - yay! I can practice on the white keys!
