"I'm not JUST a bass player, I'm a soundsystem" From the legendary Sugar Hill Gang to the pioneering Living Colour, virtuoso bassist Doug Wimbish has graced stages and studios across the globe performing with world-renowned artists including the Rolling Stones, Madonna, Seal, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Carly Simon, Tarja Turunen, Miles Davis, Mos Def, Jeff Beck, Depeche Mode, Joe Satriani, Annie Lennox...to name just a few. Doug has an amazing solo career as well, releasing "Trippy Notes for Bass" in 1999 (re-released in 2008 as "Trippy Notes for Bass & Mixes) and "CinemaSonics" in 2008. Doug has toured solo as the "Doug Wimbish Soundsystem". These days, an intensive touring schedule combined with studio work doesn't stop the energetic, inspired and creative Doug from finding the time to work on his upcoming 3rd solo album and offer his musicianship to charitable foundations.
