About Steven Ray Vaughn Tribute
Stevie Ray Vaughan Stephen(Stevie)Ray Vaughan was born on october 3.,1954 in Dallas TX.
Stevie learned to play guitar early,influenced by his older brother James Lawrence(Jimmie)Vaughan.
He played along to the records that his brother brought home with artists like M.Waters,BB King,A.King,B.Guy and J.Hendrix
Stevie dropped out of school and moved to Austin where he was playing guitar in bands like The Nightcrawlers and The Cobras
Later he formed Triple Threat Revue which remained until he decided to form a harder-driving rock/blues band
The new group,Double Trouble included Chris Layton on drums and Tommy Shannon on bass
Later Reese Wynans on keybords joined the band
After years with alcohol and drug abuse,Stevie became sober in late-86
He became a leading musician in blues and rock
Stevie died in a helicopter crash aug.27.in Alpine Valley WI after a two days concert
