An unfortunately under-appreciated, yet great, artist! Wish there were many more selections available with Mr. Paskalis.

Kostas Paskalis is, shamefully, one of the under-appreciated baritones in operatic history. He was a great artist with a wonderful voice & interpretative gifts! This opiniion is from a person who has seen the gods, Warren & Gobbi!

A TRUE Otello voice!!!

Great - intensity & excitement from a mezzo that I have not heard since the days of Simionato & Cossotto!

Please, post more selections with Rosario - a true spinto tenor!

My GOD, I have not heard an exciting mezzo like this since the glory days of Barbieri & Cossotto. Mr. LaSpina has an Otello voice & hopefully the Met will recognize this!!!!

This is a very fine voice & interpretation of this aria - for a young man, the voice is full, mature & believable as the "elder" germont. Voice is similat to that of Luis Quilico - a great bit of praise, as far as I'm concerned!

Where, oh where have these Verdi baritone voices all gone? Today's pretenders could not shine Mac's shoes!

Yet another "real life" opera tragedy (see Giuliani Bernardi, who was killed in an auto accident in his 30's & on the verge of a magnificent career). This is a wonderful rendition of "nessun dorma".

Mr. Kalt wherever you are & whatever your mind set - we desperately need you to help restore opera singing (especially tenor) to the glory that once was. I hope & pray that you will return to the stage as soon as you are willing & able! Thank you for these magnificent selections!

What an awful, unfair tragedy - Mr. Kalt had the

right stuff" power, vocal color & involvement to have become a great spinto. Instead, we have pretenders: Kaufmann, Botha, Antonenko. Please, post more selections with this great artist!

Tebaldi acted wirth her VOICE! It did not matter that she was no Judith Anderson! Opera will always be a matter of "PRIMA LA VOCE". Yes, Callas was phenomenal to watch & as a theatrical experience, but I have always found her by & large unlistenable! Alsog with Gobbi, Taddei, Bacquier, Guelfi...

EXCELLENT Italian sound - much better than ANY tenor at the Met these days!

@JoanLorraineN Absolutely right - today's tenors couldn't touch Corelli's top notes!

@kmillard Corelli was not the firs to use the diminuendo in this section - I believe Fleta was the first & subsequently Pippo & Bjoerling.

Is this entire performance available? Signor Cecchele was one of the really great Italian spinto tenors of his generation (along with Nikola Martinucci). Both were largely neglected by the Met in favor of far lesser-talented tenors, like PD!!!!!
