About Me:
My name means a couple of different things. 'Ordo' comes from the Star Wars expanded universe, and I am a Star Wars fan. Canderous Ordo was a Mandalorian, and I've always been fascinated by both the Jedi and the Mandalorians within the Star Wars universe. 'Doktor' was a nickname given to me by a group I played Battlefield 2 with some years back, as I generally don't like going to the hospital and wound up performing surgery on my own hand to remove a cyst that I couldn't afford to pay a real doctor to remove for me. 'Doktor' is also representative of my love for "mad science". I also love Dr. Steel, and it is an homage of sorts to him as well. 'Von Warcliffe' is steampunk-sounding, another subculture which I enjoy.
A more in-depth look at who I am:
I was raised in a very strict "non-denominational" Pentecostal church by my mother. My stepfather was Southern Baptist. I have family who preach in the Church of Christ. My ancestral family was Catholic before coming to America. I have also studied a bit on other religions and cultures from around the world. While I respect the right for individuals to believe in who and what they will, I do not advocate individuals or institutions forcing those beliefs on others, especially impressionable children. In this modern age, science and rational thought should fuel mankind's progress, and outdated superstitions and religion simply have no credibility.
For those who have criticized me for using 'Doktor' in my name, I never claimed to have a PHD in any field. It's just a username, get over it. I freely admit that I was home-schooled. I never attended public school or college, and dropped out of home-schooling at 16. This minor setback did not prevent me from learning on my own. The gaping holes in my education left by the dogmatic and fallacious curriculum I was force-fed as a child merely served to fuel my thirst for real knowledge and understanding.
