Dmar -- Arabic for Destruction -- is the freshest band in the Palestinian Hip Hop scene and one of the most mentioned, the band was formed at late 2007 by Amane Tatour and Mai Zarqawi .Both girls are under the age of 16 and already made a huge name in the Palestinian Hip Hop scene, Dmar is now one of the most requested bands to perform live due to the uniqueness and tremendous talent that both girls have. On why did they start rapping, Mai says:" we find Hip Hop as a simple way for us to convey our young voices to our surroundings, people can really here what two young girls are saying between kicks and snares".
Dmar are addressing a huge range of issues on their huge media coverage, as Amani mentions:"we are addressing all the forms of the occupation, from land and political occupation, to mind, media and cultural occupation".
