Madelaine, soprano, made her stage debut in October, 2007 as "Flora" in Benjamin Britten's The Turn of the Screw, with Oakland Opera Theater. She reprised the role with San Francisco Lyric Opera in May-June, 2008 and drew praise from Joshua Kosman of the San Francisco Chronicle for "[rising] magnificently to the challenge...her singing bright and true, and her stage presence a compelling mixture of playfulness and turmoil." In September-October 2008, she premiered the role of Dory Kamen in San Francisco Opera's world premiere of The Bonesetter's Daughter, by Stewart Wallace. In March, 2009, she sang "El niño" in Ancient Voices of Children by George Crumb with BluePrint, the new music ensemble of San Francisco Conservatory of Music (SFCM).

Madelaine is a 2007 graduate of San Francisco Girls Chorus. She participated in the 2008 Summer Music West program of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, singing excerpts from such Gilbert and Sullivan roles as Fiametta (The Gondoliers) and Leila (Iolanthe). Her Conservatory studies continue in the Prep Division as a voice student of soprano Anja Strauss. She is an honor roll freshman at Tamalpais High School in Mill Valley, where her studies include drama, AP math, and Mandarin.
