Religion is for self-absorbed, narcissistic losers. Children. Puny brains who can't deal with the harshness of life. It is a cowardly retreat into mysticism and supernatural daydreaming that deludes our reasoning and clouds our judgment. Like a narcotic, it dulls our pain, so we chase after it to make life easier for us. But it is a lie and always was.
I am fed up with the culture of lies. Lies about what the government is going to do for us, and lies about childish promises of life eternal. Mostly, however, I am sick and fucking tired of dealing with adults who tell each other bedtime stories! I can easily forgive a child for believing in elves; I am utterly disgusted at an adult who willingly deludes themself into thinking religion is anything but a fucking ghost story, purely intended to terrify humanity into "acceptable" modes of behavior and conduct.
If you want to pray to your sky-god, do it in the privacy of your own home so the rest of us who didn't sleep through science and history class don't have to see your pathetic, self-absorbed stupidity. Life is hard enough without making it harder by medicating your sense of reason with fairy tales.
