That's a good question. The answer is no. The problem with these high mp cameras are due to their sensor size. Higher mp is good, as long as we can increase the size of the sensor proportionally so that the size of each pixel stays the same. By increasing the pixel count while keeping the overall sensor size, you get smaller pixels hence noisy pixels. Lowering mp setting in your camera is same as resizing photos in Photoshop. Multiple pixels are combined into one, but the noise level stays the same.
