First one to have the D3S review! Great work! I am certain it's far better than the 1d mk iv, FF and 12 mp vs aps-h and 16 mp....the Image quality will suffer a lot and so will the noise on the canon.

That's a good question. The answer is no. The problem with these high mp cameras are due to their sensor size. Higher mp is good, as long as we can increase the size of the sensor proportionally so that the size of each pixel stays the same. By increasing the pixel count while keeping the overall sensor size, you get smaller pixels hence noisy pixels. Lowering mp setting in your camera is same as resizing photos in Photoshop. Multiple pixels are combined into one, but the noise level stays the same.

hi just asking an important question. people said that the 15 mp boost for small sensor like 500d destroy image quality but can i lower down the mp setting to like 12 mp so will the image quality be better and same as say the 12mp nikon d5000 or d90... reply to account will be gladly appreciated. love ur review by the way... thanks

To youtuch123, the 50D is more semi-pro. I would go with an EOS 450D, or a 1000D. Pixels do not matter at all.
