@lemmingsbambi Well now, that's pretty interesting! Yeah, I always rated him as an MC and he seemed to be everywhere in '96 and then just disappeared - I wondered whether he'd perhaps passed away. Cheers for the info.

Remember hearing this tape in one of those 'Happy Hardcore & Bouncy Techno' selection box tape packs that Krafty used to do back in '97 and loving it. Still one of my favourite M-Zone sets.

This tape was the first place I heard 'Elysium' - what a tune! The B-side ofthis tape says 'Brisk' but is actually DJ Sy's set, if I remember rightly (without going to dig out the pack!).

MC Frosty used to crop up on loads of sets in 98 and 99 but never appeared on any flyers. Then, just when it seemed like he might start actually being booked for events, he just disappeared. Shame, as he wasn't too bad an MC. Same goes for MC Hurricane who would often go B2B with Frosty.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - Ribbz is one of the most underrated DJs there is. Can't beat his tunes - he always played something different.

Great tunes but it always puzzled me why he makes no attempt at mixing whatsoever! Otherwise, an awesome set.

It's a shame you never seem to get proper techno at raves these days - it's all gabba. You could always count on Ribbz to play something different.

Probably my favourite Mark EG set - absolutely spot on. I remember seeing the flyers for both this event and the Dreamscape NYE event and noticing that M-Zone was playing at DS the hour before he was due to play this set with Mark EG. I always thought Double Zero was hugely underrated as an MC. Wonder what happened to him?

@egggzz It's 'The Power of the Herb' by Mastervibe. Are you sure this is DJ Unknown? I only ask cos I don't think he played Energy 97 and this sounds very much like a Clarkee or Mastervibe set. Great upload though!

I was a bit further back from the stage but I remember thinking how crystal clear the sound was. The lights and lasers were immense too. DEFINITELY made the right choice over Coldplay.

Immense tune. Both dark and euphoric.

Awesome! Remember hearing this on a Vibes & Livelee tape from Helter Skelter NYE 96/97 when I was about 17. Great remix!

Remember dancing to this one at school discos. I was 12 and for these few moments, we were the coolest people in the world. Great memories - cheers!
