About Me:

Check out our great music selection: http://www.freewebs.com/biz...

Inspired back in the 80's by bands such as; Danse Macabre, Car Crash Set, Killing Joke, 1000 Mexicans, Three Johns, Snakefinger, The Sound, Scars, Atrittion, Mekons, Venus in Furs, Chris & Cosey, Gang Of Four, Modern Eon, Modern English, Portion Control, Nocturnal Emissions, Click Click, Death In June, Front 242, Neon Judgement, Klinik, Stiff Kittens, Poesie Noire, Dive, Skinny Puppy, Coil, Siglo xx, Nitzerebb, to name but a few! Ok so there reached a point where we had to some how; get involved & contribute in some way, but with a personalised approach, we started off with a band called 'Underconstruction', band members consisted of; Graham Parkinson: guitar & head (only) engineer. Adam Marchbank on drums, Mark Kinghan; vocals, and us on Bass. Style was alternative/postpunk/blah blah kind ov thing, anyway have a listen, you be the judge? Right so the foundations were laid and many ideas surged through the group, as well as sharing similar music style directions, like the Goth, New Wave, Industrial scenes, EG: Front 242, Joy Division, Coil, The Sound, Comsat Angels, Laibach, Sisters of Mercy, Neubauten etc, so these inspirations were an important part of that directional benchmark guidance process if you like. Guitarist and Sound engineer Graham P became the Head Tek- Wizard. When a song was being recorded, he would work on getting the Mix down so it was as good as it possibly could ever hope to be, taking the sound into what felt like a hidden dimension, hence sounded brilliant! (to us) Nostalgically, I recall sitting round after a final mix outside our practice room with a big 'doobie', saying Wow were gonna be famous !, in hindsight, I guess it was just a case of 'very good weed'!. But after much time and sweat, and finally having the physical evidence in hand, 'The completed demo track': War Toys , we were sure of a small amount of fan/media acknowledgment, so trucked on down to our local alternative student radio station BFM. Unfortunately Underconstruction never made it to playlist status, so guess they weren't quite ready for us or something like that (lol) ... So Instead of pursuing this path of fame any further we remained underground, and set about playing live venues, and made a lot of interesting noise, took some good drugs and pursued the realms of fun! I also recall playing at the Parnell (AKL/N.Z.) Library, where at this point, our music was becoming quite Macabre & Dark which subsequently spawned a negative event that occurred with one of our female patrons where she took one of our tracks: "24 Hours to live" literally and proceeded to slit her wrists in the gals room, (she lived), Musically, this gig was an event that appealed to us all in the band and a journey that had to be taken to be fully complete. However by 1990 we came to the realization that we were getting a bit restless and were taking on board our own separate agendas, so Graham P. took a journey to the South Island in a classic house-truck (complete with smoke stack!) then came back to Auckland to work as a Audio Engineering school Technician/Tutor, get married, work with computers and set up his own home based recording studio. Adam also headed South to live in Nelson where he took on the family life and breeded. Mark pursued a part time theatrical career and has been sited on numerous television adverts, Shortland St appearances etc...and Mike Rea went underground (see Reflex Condition) UNDERCONSTRUCTION had their historic track War Toys finally released and featured on the Club Bizarre compilation 'Solid Goth Hts VOL.1' and in 2004 their 1988 song 'Zilch' featured on another CB compilation, 'Tests for the Sensory Impaired'. The next project was Nazi Disco (formed 1993), later called Naz-Co, due to name controversy (you get that with art (lol)). Band Members; Mark Wallbank (AKA; Max Ego): Vocals, Keys, Drum Programming, effects, Rhys Braddock: Guitar. Me: Bass. The style here was more electro, and the inspirations amongst the band were artists like: 'Front 242', 'Skinny Puppy', 'Revolting Cocks', 'Borghesia', 'Klinik', etc, etc. At approximately the same period of time, infact a tad earlier; 91', we started working on a solo project: "Reflex Condition", but produced like only bedroom/basement type recordings, using budget equipment and all recorded down on a classic X15 Fostex four track recorder, however it was great to have the freedom of experimentation, in the way that you could manipulate & dabble with different instrumentation tools, trying out some interesting effects, some of this involved tape sampling, extensive use of delay treatment, applied sometimes on all instruments, including the doncamatic + Korg drum machines & sometimes even to an acoustic drum kit, blah, blah, blah. Now days we're still working on new Reflex condition music, using mainly pc software & samples, etc.
