Devine Lie were formed in 2004 and split their time mainly between Barbados and Cape Town. The main writer and musician is Nigel Nicholls.Melding a fusion of styles to create some interesting Alternative Rock, their music has matured during the course of their four CD Releases.
Their first CD was Devine Lies in 2006, with stand out tracks Devine Lies and Dromoland featuring heavily.
Their second CD, Skin is all Sin, released in 2007, hinted at a slight change of direction, with the powerful tracks Hope in Suicide and Shadow Aspect dominating.
Their third CD released in early 2009, was Politicians aren't the People I meet. This CD shows yet another slight change in their emerging style and was probably their most accessible and lyrical to date.
A Place in this World released at the end of 2009, was a showcase CD for the vocal talents of David Treanor. Devine Lie have a new singer and a new direction for this melodic rock album. Guitars, synths and keyboards feature heavily in this very accessible album featuring songs for today about relationships, dreams and love
The news for 2011 is that David Treanor has now joined Devine Lie on a full time basis. We have been working hard on our new album for the past 18 months and it is now nearly ready for release. To get a glimpse of what the new album is about, check out our You Tube channel were we have just posted three "taster" sample videos.
