I am a true Swansea Jack.I Wrote the song "Derek the Fan" for Radio Tircoed to raise money for the station.I was asked to write a song so i tried to write a song that was relevant to the area.I know how football mad the people of Swansea are(me included) So i wrote a song about my life growing up around the Vetchfield and following the Swans.The song starts with the game that saw Swansea win promotion to the old first division against Preston in the eighties.Swansea eventually won the game 1-3.I was at that game that day and i will always remember the excitement of it all.The song moves on through the years to the Liberty Stadium.Where Swansea now play.
Rob Stone produced and edited the song.I myself suffered somewhat during the recording with a bad throat(Sorry)But after 3 packets of lockets and a jug of water, we managed to get it right on the first take.I hope you all like the song.
