John Frusciante - Inside A Break Album: Inside Of Emptiness (2004)
Inside of Emptiness is the sixth album by John Frusciante, and the fourth album of a six album series released from June 2004 to February 2005. It features Josh Klinghoffer and Omar Rodríguez-López as guest musicians.
Recorded in March and published in October 2004, John's fastest album to date might as well be the first one to think of when someone who hasn't followed his career and who's a fan of Red Hot Chili Peppers asks what to start with. From the distorted hot rocking beats of What I Saw to the melancolic falsetto of Scratches, with the floor vibrating from the screams in 666 and hearts melting at the warmth and openess of I'm Around and cruel reality of Look On, the song which features one of John's best guitar solos ever; Inside Of Emptiness is most likely the album where no skipping will occur, no matter who you are. Lyrically, just like all of John's other albums, it is much more complex. According to the author himself, three songs on the album were written while thinking about British occultist/mystic Aleister Crowley. Some of the music critics are refering to Inside Of Emptiness as something similar to what Shadows Collide With People would sound had it been unpolished and more raw. On the other side, this is obviously album where the electric guitar dominates, unlike on SCWP where each song has an accoustic guitar as the base instrument. Apart from usual contributor Josh Klinghoffer, the album also features a guest appearance of The Mars Volta's guitarist, Omar Rodriguez-Lopez, and therefore the first of two times he and John experimented with what John called "joined guitars". Introverted, yet somewhat furious, slow-speaking yet unstoppable as he's always been; John'd created yet another memorable chapter in the history of modern rock music.

Lyrics:
(One, two, three, four!)
Inside a break there's only moments that hide Every mistake is really worth a try I know a way a lie can be refined Hand me your cross and run for your life
Any good luck is a falling tree I'm no one and no one is me All day to call some kind of a faceless guide Someday you see is just a today in disguise
Na na na na Na na na na na na Na na na na Na na na na na na
Every pace you go would go without you The busiest days there's really nothing to do I go away to turn dark to light Don't look at me when you're wondering why
Hymns Sound so good to him Reflections occur within Unwind so-called holes
Language is false but it speaks to me Places are gone when there's no one to see 'em I got a pain that spans millions of lives Going to where we'll dive into the sky
La la la la La la la la la La la la la La la la la la
Any old way is a new way to be There's just no cause for beating anybody All of us kids we like to climb to fall Once within there's nothing better at all
Than no-wow-where No-wow-where No-wow-where No-wow-where No-wow-where Nowhere
