About this user
I hardly ever use the internet anymore. I messed around on it way back when I was a freshman in high school, and my grades began to tank.
One day I woke up and I saw the internet from a new perspective: as a place for wasting time watching unentertaining videos and getting into flame wars with people I've never met about topics I don't even really care about (or shouldn't).
Nowadays, I spend most of my time in real life hanging out with real friends and going on real adventures of my own.
During the year, I also have way too much work to do to spare any iotae of time for the tremendous glutton of time and resources that is the use of the internet.
Some of you may find that the internet is an indispensable tool. For you, this may be true; your circumstances may require the use of the internet.
On the other hand, for me, there are no functions that the internet fulfills that I am not able to complete on my own in the real world.
-For research, I go to the library.
-For communication, I use post, fax, or telephone calls.
-For social networking, I don't.
-To purchase something, I go in person to the nearest store (but I barely purchase anything besides groceries, books on occasion, and clothes by necessity)
-For directions, I use fold-out street maps.
-I don't do online gaming.
-I don't listen to music.
-For news, I buy the newspaper at the newsstand.
-For foreign translations, I use a dictionary.
Quod erat demonstrandum, I am a luddite. I find that avoiding the siren's call of the internet leaves me with enough time to get all my work in real life done and to interact with everyone I know in real life.
