**New Season Premiers October 10th, 2008 in the U.S.**
The eighth season will feature many existing characters from the series, as well as introducing new ones. In trailers broadcast on The N, and streaming on its website, it is known that Miriam McDonald and Cassie Steele will return as best friends Emma Nelson and Manuela "Manny" Santos. Shane Kippel will appear as Gavin "Spinner" Mason, with Sarah Barrable-Tishauer as Liberty Van Zandt, Jamie Johnston as Peter Stone. The preview clips also show that Shenae Grimes will return as Darcy Edwards. The N's Degrassi website also shows that Stacey Farber will return to play Ellie Nash. Other returnees include Lauren Collins as Paige Michalchuk, Aubrey Graham as Jimmy Brooks, Mike Lobel as Jay Hogart, Adamo Ruggiero as Marco Del Rossi, Jake Goldsbie as Toby Isaacs, Samantha Munro as Anya MacPherson, Dalmar Abuzeid as Danny Van Zandt, Marc Donato as Derek Haig, Charlotte Arnold as Holly J. Sinclair, Paula Brancati as Jane Valieri, Scott Paterson as Johnny DiMarco, Nina Dobrev as Mia Jones, and Raymond Ablack as Sav Bhandari.
