A new King James Bible has broken a centuries-old tradition and is following in the footsteps of several Bible translations that restored the Divine Name to its original place in the Old Testament.

":the ONLY thing that will pay the FULL price for sin is the BLOOD OF JESUS!"

The context of the above is obviously about the restoration of mankind, the resurrection hope and I agree with it fully.

HOWEVER..the context of the first part of Rom 6:23 is NOT dealing with the resurrection hope. " the wages sin pays is death"... it is dealing in part with inherited sin and the price of sin..., we have unwillingly EARNED OUR DEATH by our sinful nature. The wages (death) pays for the sin.

As I keep saying to you....there are two different things going on here thus the context is different. The LATTER part of vs 23 gets into the resurrection HOPE.

You keep confusing the context!

@FairNskware On point # 2 ,You said:
QUOTE
If we are conscious of the time factor, then 1 Thessalonians 5:1 most truly applies to us when it says:
"Now as for the times and the seasons, brothers you need nothing to be written to you."

In other words, we will not be taken by surprise. We will surely be persons of discernment concerning events having to do with the time of the "conclusion of the system of things." (Matt. 24:3)
END QUOTE

So are you saying the reason why the WT has done so much writing is because JW's were NOT conscious of the time factor?

@FairNskware

A couple of post ago you said I took your statement about Lazarus and his death out of context when I quoted what you said.

In turn I made the following statement:

In ANY CONTEXT using ANY SYNTAX and in ANY and ALL ways imaginable, the ONLY thing that will pay the FULL price for sin is the BLOOD OF JESUS!

This statement stands on its own no matter what you do with it. It fits ANY context therefore I will never accuse you of taking my statement out of context.

I challenged you to do the same thing with your statements as I did with mine and make your statement fit ANY context. Then when I quote you again, you can't accuse me of taking you out of context.

@Brickdwelling

1) What statement are YOU referring to that YOU THINK I don't agree with? AND what statement did "I" make that isn't within the context of our discussion?

2) If we are conscious of the time factor, then 1 Thessalonians 5:1 most truly applies to us when it says:
"Now as for the times and the seasons, brothers you need nothing to be written to you."

In other words, we will not be taken by surprise. We will surely be persons of discernment concerning events having to do with the time of the "conclusion of the system of things." (Matt. 24:3)

In Acts 1:6,7 - Note that Jesus gave this advice just after outlining events that would make up "the sign." So the apostles were alerted to the fact that certain things had to develop historically, during Christs presence, before the end,.... a fact they overlooked.

@FairNskware

1) Regarding Rom. 6:7, I made a statement that stands on its own in ANY context. Can you do the same with your point?

2) Regarding getting knowledge of the times and writing about it, did the scriptures say there was no need for that or not? If that's what the scriptures said, can you explain what Acts 1:6 and 1 Thess 5:1 mean?

@brickdwelling
Why does that matter? Look how much figurative paper and ink we have used just discussing a couple of verses in Rom 6...lol.

Ask yourself these questions and perhaps you can answer it yourself. What is the reason for that scripture. Why are there scriptures giving us timelines? why does the bible say that Jesus doesn't even know all the timelines? Why are we to be on the watch? What is the purpose of knowing that we are living in end times. Why must we not predict God's great day? There are many, many more questions to ask...but these are the ones that came to mind so far. Keep reading the bible.

And AGAIN.....context is everything. It really rounds out your thinking when you read more than just ONE VERSE so that you don't come to a wrong conclusion.

@brickdwelling

Okay,..If you didn't just cherry pick....what was your real reason for why you took that particular sentence out? The context in our discussion is everything that I have given you thus far, privately and on defending's channel etc..

Are you sure you are not just ignoring the this context and inserting your own thinking? Remember, I wrote the sentence so I know the context in which I wrote it.

What I think you are implying is not accurate. ( that death forgives our sins so we don't need Jesus.......Isn't that what you are implying???) . If in doubt just ask me.....you know I will try to explain.....that's why I keep saying to you we will have to agree to disagree on this. Always rely on the context friend.
