This is our version of "The Witch" by "The Sonics". Our version was inspired by the "Heart" remake of the song. Carol presented it at practice one day as a 'quick learn'. We took it in our own direction. Its hard to believe this song was recorded in 1965.
We have better recordings of this song , with a better mix and overall sound. But the energy of this particular day warrants its use. We had only known this song for about a week when we recorded it, thus proving the theory that sometimes its best to just capture the early performance because it is probably the best.
The room had two MXL 990's pointed at the band and Carol was behind a door, partially blocked from the sound, singing into a Sure SM58. So essentially it was recorded on 3 tracks which is not that different from the way the Sonics used to record.

Esta é a nossa versão de "A Feiticeira", de "The Sonics". Nossa versão foi inspirada no "Heart (Ann and Nancy Wilson)" remake da canção. Carol apresentou na prática um dia como um "rápido aprender ". Levamos em nossa própria direção. É difícil de acreditar essa música foi gravada em 1965.
Temos gravações melhores desta canção, com uma mistura melhor e som em geral. Mas a energia deste dia especial merece a sua utilização. Nós só tinha conhecido essa música por cerca de uma semana, quando gravamos, comprovando a teoria de que, por vezes, o melhor é apenas capturar a performance inicial, pois é provavelmente o melhor.
A sala tinha dois MXL 990 está apontada para a banda e Carol estava atrás de uma porta, parcialmente bloqueado a partir do som, cantando em um SM58 Claro. Então, basicamente, foi gravado em 3 faixas que não é tão diferente da forma como os Sonics usado para gravar.

This video was recorded on an Alesis HD24. The drums were miced with a single Sennheiser E604 on the snare. UKKO By B-Band contact piezoelectric mics on the toms. A sure Beta 52A on the kick drum and 3 overhead MXL 990 condenser mics.
