About this user
David Jorge Emmanuel Ramirez Bowes (a.k.a. Dee Bowes) was born and raised in a humble suburb somewhere in the Florida Keys. Dee's mother and father were both a professional dancer and guitar player, so even at a young age, music was a mainstay in his life. But Dee himself was a bit of an introvert. Why he harbored a fondness for music, he was never very open about it towards anyone but his family...out of fear of embarrassing himself. The only exception was during a talent show in middle school, which resulted in him giving a middle aged man a mild head trauma. This only worsened his readiness to be open with himself. But this would all come to pass very soon.
When Dee was 14, his homeboy Ariel had convinced him to go to a music festival being held in the next town over. He told him it would be a great place to pick up girls.
When they arrived, they were awe stuck. Never before had they seen so many people together in one place. But while Ariel was focused on chasing skirts, Dee's eyes were weaving through the crowd as it the people were bobbing and weaving together, than he turned towards the stage to see the people that were the cause of it...the performers.
The singers, the dancers, the rappers and showmen who had all came out for the purpose of entertaining the people. But there was one performer in particular that gave young Dee Bowes something that the others didn't...
It was a young woman, probably about 6 years his senior. She miraculously put the crowd, who were once previously fired up from the reggaeton artists who were on before her, into a hypnotic trance. Her voice was powerful and strong but at the same time gentle and sincere. Accompanied by a pulsing electronic beat, she had put everyone, including Dee, into a state of euphoria that he had never thought possible.
When the festival was over, Dee tried desperately to find out where the girl was or at the very least whom she was... unfortunately to no avail. But while it seemed that the mysterious girl had all but vanished from his life as quickly as she appeared, she left with Dee a brand new vigor. She showed him the power music had over people and how it could put them into a state of living, thinking and overall being that they couldn't achieve on their own... not for the listeners and those making the music as well. It was from that point on the bashful reserved Dee Bowes got lost in the crowd, and a strong passionate one arose to take his place. A Dee Bowes whose goal in life is to use music to take his audience and himself to places they could never go before. And with any luck, it will be the same place that a young angel voice took him to so long ago.
