My Story

I am just a regular guy. I have a good job. I enjoy life with my wonderful wife and great kids. For over 20 years I paid my bills and never had a late payment. My credit score was 770, life was good.

Then the recent recession hit. Things got worse and worse. I held on for almost a year. In an attempt to keep up with my bills, I drained my savings, my 401k, even my wife's 401k, just to make minimum payments and trying to figure a way out of the hole I was in.

Then the money ran out. It is one of the hardest things I have ever faced in my life. You know, it almost felt like admitting defeat, but I went and talked to an attorney about bankruptcy. After reviewing my situation she told me that I was a perfect candidate for a Chapter 7 bankruptcy, but she also advised me to do everything I could to avoid it.

I had hit rock bottom. I really didn't want to declare bankruptcy, but what choice did I have?

At first bankruptcy looked like a breath of fresh air. All of a sudden I was going to be able to go from a $1000 a month deficit to being able to put some money in savings every month. It looked great and easy.

Then I saw a real estate sales form. It asked, "Have you ever been part of a bankruptcy?" I know that a bankruptcy will be taken off your credit in 7 - 10 years, but this form asked "EVER". Yes, I could lie and say "No" on the form and I probably would not get caught, but Im not like that and I knew that from then on I would have to answer YES to that question for the rest of my life.

This prompted me to really start educating myself on my options to avoid bankruptcy. I read everything I could find on every program I found. Credit Counseling - Debt Consolidation - Debt Settlement - I researched them all. Then I found Debt Resolution.

I was so impressed with the program that I signed up for it. The payment plan made it so I could pay all my bills again. They were very good about working with me and I liked the fact that the program was run by an attorney firm.

I knew there were others out there in the same boat that I was in and I had such a good experience with Debt Resolution that I wanted to help others by helping to educate them about this option. Every option is not right for every person. But Debt Resolution is an extremely good option and I believe it can really help a lot of people.
