This channel is dedicated to voicing concern for the YT policy allowing anonymous DMCA filings, and the DoS vulnerability that the condition creates. It may even lead to identity theft facilitated by YouTube.

However, YouTube has elected to accept DMCA notices, absent due process of law. The filing of a DMCA notice explicitly requires that the filing party be identified and that they present valid legal claim. A DMCA claim is in fact a statement of ownership rights and before one may claim ownership, one must not be anonymous. An anonymous party may not possess or own anything because ownership attributes a property to a uniquely identifiable person or legal alias with valid claim to the property in question. The identification required by YouTube to file such a claim is whatever identity the filer elects to submit when they create a new channel. YouTube warns that filing a false complaint will result in the filer's account being terminated. Which means that an account may be made which has as its sole purpose, to be used to file such a claim, from an anonymous internet proxy, and then be sacrificed. It takes a couple of minutes to file a false complaint, and two weeks for the account holder to have his account returned. This, means that Youtube has designed their complaint form to facilitate a Denial of Service attack on its own users without accountability and without recourse, rather than requiring accountability prior to accepting the filing.
Filing a fraudulent legal claim is itself a crime, and furtherance or facilitation of a crime, is also a crime.
The DMCA requires YouTube to act timely to correct abuses of intellectual property and requires that once notified they must remove content which is in violation, but nothing in the DMCA requires that they act on any claim which is not presented in proper legal form. There is no law which may demand for its observance the participation in the willful commission of a crime.
While Youtube is perfectly within its rights to terminate an account for any reason, it is not within its rights to participate in a crime.
The DMCA is currently being exploited on YouTube and elsewhere as a means by which intolerant and self-serving persons and groups are attempting to remove diverse opinion and inconvenient truth.
YouTube, by accepting DMCA filings, which are legal testimony, by other than identifiable persons and by other than certifiably legal means of admitting testimony are participating in and facilitating the suppression of speech by persons and groups who just don't like what someone has posted in their channel.
Sure, you can file a counter notice, and your posting or channel can be returned, but the group that filed the original false DMCA complaint can simply file another anonymous complaint. Imagine if someone could walk into a bookstore and inform the owner without proof that they owned the rights to any particular book. Lets use the King James Bible as an example, and despite the obvious falsity of this claim, once notified the bookstore owner was obligated to remove the book from his shelves.
To make the claim then that the DMCA requires exactly this is an absurd fiction.
It should be obvious that it is in YouTube's own interests to address this issue. They have left their service open to mass exploitation and disruption. Loss of advertising revenue and loss of interest. Who in their right mind would waste the time to build a channel, when it can be disrupted repeatedly by vandals. It isn't even necessary for a vandal to hack into YouTube, because YouTube has thoughtfully provided a convenient online form to assist the vandal.
Join me in voicing the objection to YouTube's participation in this abuse. Insist that YouTube accept legal notices such as DMCA filings only through certified legal process and stop its participation in the anonymous criminal suppression of speech.
