About this user

How can one person create a huge musical experience? By doing what deargracewithlove is doing. Jonathan Atkins, of Mississauga, Ontario, has spent years experimenting and searching for that deargracewithlove sound. From peaceful melodies to songs that will just make you want to dance, this unique talent will always impress a crowd.

The search for the perfect sound started in grade nine; Jonathan had gathered a few friends to try out the style of post-hardcore with Rawr! We Are Dinosaurs; the group ended a few weeks later. Almost immediately after the band broke up, two of the members, along with Jonathan, had created a whole new punk experience called Moonlit Hideaway. They had much more success this time with landing a show in Milton, but the band never progressed passed that as it became, "too much of a hassle to get together and actually practice." So a year later Jonathan toyed with the idea of trying things out on his own and that is when deargracewithlove was born.

A lot went on for Jonathan in summer of 2010, emotionally, that drove him to sitting alone with his guitar. Some experimenting with tunning's and honest lyrics later, Jonathan composed a whole album worth of songs which he entitled deargracewithlove and gave to his girlfriend for her birthday. It only took three more months for Jonathan to come up with another album for his girlfriend called A Quiet Stillness. He played these songs at various cafe's and fundraisers and people really came to love the unique style and atmosphere created by the music. It was when people began to ask if there was any way they could purchase his music that launched the full length album project, All the Houses Look the Same.

12 songs were selected for the album; some brand new along with the best off the two albums given to his girl. It's due for release mid April 2012 and contains some of his most brilliant pieces; a masterpiece, so to say.

Why deargracewithlove? The name can have multiple meanings, but it is truly named after the love of his life. "I'd also rather go by a band name in case I ever decide to add members- It's less self-centred than having Jonathan Atkins Band, or The Jonathan Atkins Experience."

Jonathan's incredible guitar style along with his soft, haunting, and powerful vocals mixed with his unique way of live looping creates a new folk concert experience. Deargracewithlove is definitely something to look out for in the coming years.
