About Dead End Street
Nico is the lead singer of the duo. Her songwriting style tells a story, many times inspired by writing pieces and unpublished novels.
Elphie is the lead guitarist and vocalist of the duo. She is the main songwriter and has quoted she gets her inspiration from, "Anyone who I meet that has something behind their mask, a tale untold. Perhaps I'll one day hear a song and think about its theme, relate it to my personal experience, and put those together to wonder what it would sound like if my life was a Broadway musical. The list goes on and on!"

About this user
Nico and Elphie met on FanFiction.net on a Wicked roleplaying forum. Though they live on opposite sides of the country, nothing stopped them from sharing an instant connection.
"Well the only think I've ever had proper lessons in was the piano. That was maybe a year and I didn't enjoy it all that much though I still play electric occasionally. I taught myself guitar and have been playing two or three years now. By singing, if you mean in shows and things, then maybe four years. But I don't remember a time I wasn't singing for myself." - Nico
"I grew up with a recorder/flute and piano. I picked it up by myself around five or so, playing songs I heard on Disney classics or songs on the radio. I forgot flute around 3rd grade. In 4th grade, an orchestra came to our school and played. While about 97% of kids were falling asleep, I was enchanted. They let us try instruments after, and I dashed straight to the violins. The musician taught me Twinkle Twinkle in 2 minutes and I was so proud of myself, I started taking lessons just weeks later. I don't exactly remember, I think in 6th grade, I started to take piano to learn to read music properly (up until then, everything I did was by ear) and learn the bass cleft. I progressed pretty quickly, outgrowing my teacher by the second lesson. It's helped me start to compose orchestra music, but sadly, I'm slowly losing interest in piano. I'll stick with it...for now. Guitar, I'm new to. I've begged for a guitar for years. Avril Lavigne was my first music inspiration and I wanted to be like her, sing and write my own songs and play on stage with a simple instrument. Finally, my parents spontaneously took me to the local music store and I picked out a red acoustic Walden guitar, only knowing how to play Mamma Mia! from ear, not knowing anything. I tried and tried to learn, but I just couldn't as my fingers took such a hard beating and got blisters and bled. I stopped for a while, wanting to give up. Then I learned of Meg & Dia, one of the best things that ever happened to me. I watched Meg on YouTube videos until my eyes were bloodshot, started tearing up my own hands to get callouses, and eventually learned. I can now play almost every MaD song now. Guitar was worth all the pain." - Elphie
Note added by Elphie: I'm going to continue playing piano, only I'm going to take a break from lessons for a while.
One day, the girls began to talk about literature and decided to write a song together. That is when Elphie came up with the idea to start a music duo like their greatest inspiration, Meg & Dia.
Later on, both of the musicians fell heavily into Oasis, though Elphie had been slightly interested in the band a few years before. They now aspire to be the next Oasis, just as Oasis had become the next Beatles.
