Nice, certainly looks fast and clean. I'll have to give it a go. I've always done it with the two ends and don't mind racking it every time - At least then I'm certain it's good to go.

I can't help but think that if the pro was placed deeper it would have had more chance to hold. I mean, you'd have to split the entire crag apart if it was deeper. Obviously in the video it's hard to tell, but maybe something to keep in mind when climbing on sandstone in the future?

@DaveAngus4lyfe It is fairly simple really. If the distance to the next hold is 4 ft, then if you want to clip in advance, then you need 8 ft to reach it (4 ft up to the clip and 4 ft back to your harness). If instead you climb up to the clip, then you only have 4 ft of rope out. Obviously though...

And what happens if you put it in a vacuum?

@channingtup2 I think you're suggesting letting go of the dead rope there? Unless you take in at least 3 hands worth, I don't see how you can keep hold of the dead rope at all times. I guess you could maybe slide the hand up the rope, but the technique used in the video is the one I want my belay...

As has been said, the green one is wrong. Also, I know you're only demonstrating, but I hope those ropes aren't in use. They should have been whipped/fused after cutting.

Also, no knot is any good at all if you don't know its uses and drawbacks. A double fisherman's is *not* easily pulled apart ...

I always thought the lyric was "Going to the can negates debate". I prefer my version. I doubt it conveys the real meaning though.

@dogdog129 No it's not. Gold has a conductivity of 4.52e7 and copper's is 5.69e7. Gold is used because it resists corrosion better. That's why copper wires are made of copper.
