One of the biggest hits of the 1990's, and often considered to be one of the greatest songs of all time is The Verve's Bittersweet Symphony. Often, on videos related to the band, Richard Ashcroft or the song itself, there are comments with people speculating on what's the story with the song, who was right, who was wrong, etc... There are lots of people who just need gaps filling in on this story.
