You could start with an easy scripting language (like Python) to learn the basics of computer programming, then move on to Visual Basic or C#, and then ASP.NET. Working 1 to 2 hours a day, it would probably take you about 9 months to learn this material, and to start working online as a freelance web programmer. The time you have while unemployed is very valuable - you can use this time to improve your computer skills.

Colleges and universities are ripping young people off with worthless degrees, and they don't care. Many people would be much better off if they had never gone, since they wouldn't be in massive debt for worthlessness.

No, it's not timeless. All theoretical and observational evidence indicates that space, time, matter and energy came into existence at some time in the finite past. This leaves two options. Have you considered upgrading your skills? With a library card and computer with an internet connection, you teach yourself programming languages like Python and C++. With enough practice you may be able to do freelance programming online, without necessarily having a college degree. Just an idea.
