So, as of last month, I have no iPod video any more, I was tired of it and I broke it, I now have a wonderful iPod touch....

Take a look at this site at myipodtouchscreeniswhite[.]c0/\/\ they have a solution for this other than the power on/off + home button hold because I had the same problem with my iPod Touch and this method wouldn't work and I finally got my iPod working again...

This is an easy fix... go to myipodtouchscreeniswhite[.]c0/\/\ and check out their tutorial on how to fix your iPod. I have a Touch myself and this tutorial fixed mine and they also have a tutorial for iPhones.
