Anointed Gifted Passionate are just a few words that describes this dynamic Minister of Dance Davena Longshore-Ellis. From the tender age of 5, she felt a strong attraction and pull into the dance arena but it was not until she reached her adult life that she began to pursue this passion. Raised in Orangeburg, SC, she graduated from OW High School in 1999 with honors and a scholarship offer to attend the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida. Upon her relocation to attend college, she became deeply involved with the dance ministry at her church and blossomed into a true jewel to the kingdom of God through dance. Davena passionately believes that it is important for dance ministers to continue to sharpen their technique skills in order to present to God a dance routine in the spirit of excellence. She therefore took numerous dance classes with Miami City Ballet, Ballet Florida (West Palm Beach, FL) and Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida under the tutelage and instruction of World-Renown Choreographer, Clarence Brooks. As she matriculated in life and ministry, she was given the leadership role over the dance ministry at her church and ministered as Lead Choreographer for an International Ministry. In this capacity she was responsible for the spiritual and technical oversight of dance ministers all over the United States, Canada, The Bahamas and Jamaica.

In 2003, Davena served as Lead Choreographer for the Gospel Play Amazing Grace, written and produced by Bible Teachers International Ministries. As a result of her God-given anointing, gifts and talents, lives were changed and hearts were restored. Davena has trained hundreds of men, women, boys and girls in the ministry of dance and is a highly sought after Minister of Dance. In May 2009, she hosted her very first Ellis Academy of Dance conference in Cerro Gordo, North Carolina and in 2010; she launched the Ellis Academy of Dance in Atlanta, Georgia.

This powerful and anointed Minster of Dance is available for Dance Workshops/Conferences, Dance Ministry consultations and other ministry endeavors related to the Dance Ministry. She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mathematics from Florida Atlantic University and a Masters Degree in Information Systems Technology from the University of Phoenix. Along with her husband Paul, son Judah, and daughter Jada, she resides in the Metro-Atlanta, Georgia area.
