I would say if you redo your sorting system then to start it somewhere fresh, gives you more room for creativity if your building from scratch instead of trying to fit a new system in an old room if your not sure how much space is required. Also i'm guessing the lag spikes are chunk loading block...

Kootra in regards to your viking mod i have a suggestion. While it's not minecraft there is a mod on steam called PVK....Pirates vs Vikings vs Knights. Be pretty great to see you and some of the other creatures on there. you could be a viking...Nova could be a pirate and Seamus could be a knight

i've got a feeling but not sure that the method your using currently (pumping the oil/energy into a tank then to the machine) is not that economical as you loose some, also clutters up with machines...better system in my opinion would be to have a single pipe line with the tanks in the same place...

quick idea for the monster spawning/skeleton farming why not make a room somewhere made enirely of cobble (no windows) then put the bed in there...will save you time having to go around destroying torches and hiding all light sources
