About Me:
a scorp to seduce,
don't shout,
it's no use.
she's already heard
what your eyes have said
in one or two words,
but you go ahead.
if you have to.
if devoid of choice.
sing it through
in that voice.
she'll get that.
she might ignore it.
but love's like fat;
burn it or store it.

Nikos Kapetanidis (1889 - 1921)
Journalist, editor and director of newspapers and magazines inTrapezounta, one of the thousands national martyrs of Pontiac Hellenism. He was born in Rizounta -Rize, in December 1889. He finished the high school in the Tuition centre of Trapezounta, in 1905. He was hanged on 21 September 1921, in the age of 32, after his condemnation by the courts of independence of Amasia (Istiklal Mouchakemesi), because he was accused that he was thinking and acting with others, in order to found the Democracy of Pontus.
After Turks reoccupied Trapezounta, in October 1918, he published the newspaper Season that was released three or four times a week. With courage and unimaginable fighting spirit through the columns of his newspaper - more with his main articles - Kapetanides always reproached the Turkish felonies and cruelties, eponymous. His acute dialogues from the columns of Season with the blindly bigot and antigreek Turkish newspaper of Trapezounta Selamet, round the subject of independence of Pontus are evidences of insane - could somebody say - Greek boldness.
Characteristic of the danger, that Kapetanides ran through due to his open opposition with their Turks, is also the incident, that is described in Pontiaki Estia (September-October 1975) by his brother, probably, Kostas Kapetanides, with the pseudonym Kostas Morfidis and title the executioner of Pontos Topal Osman in the offices of Season. We are copying the entire article: With bitter smile Nikos Kapetanides accepted on Friday of 20 March 1920, the statement that Osman agas would visit the offices of Season, with his men-askeri as he happened to be in Trapezounta, in order to extend there , perhaps, as he wished , his terrible action. As reason of the visit to Nikos was stated that he wish - Osman aga- to meet him and to know him personally.
That horrible slaughterer of Greeks of Kerasounta was a ferryman and was appointed by Kemal mayor of Kerasounta. He, who with terrifying, wild and inhuman way had slaughtered the flower of that Greek city• the first men in education, in wealth and in social substance - lawyers, doctors, pharmacists, professors, land owners, musicians, schoolteachers, - was now in Trapezounta! His men, murderers, dregs of society, illiterate and uneducated , armed with manlicher, with revolvers and all kinds of knives, had seed the terror, the destruction and the havoc beyond Kerasounta and the outskirts, and in Tripoli, Orntou, Sampsounta, Oinoi, Fatsa, Erpaa, where, with no resistance, slaughtered women, children and the elderly, raping girls and burned homes.
Nikos Kapetanides was arrested by Turks, because in his house, when it was searched, they found a Konstantinos Konstantinides letter, that great patriot from Marseille, who was fighting to unite the Greeks from Pontus on the need of fighting for independent Pontus. He was accused with other 68 Pontian patriots among them Kofides and Akritides - that he was fighting for the independence of Pontus. The 69 were led to the court of independence of Amasia, where Kapetanides showed for one more time the bravery of his soul. When the chairman of his court addressed the category that he was fighting for the independence of Pontus, Kapetanides raised and supplemented:
Not only for the independence but also for the union with Greece!
He was executed on 21 September 1921, in Amasia. His last words in front in the hang were:
Long live Hellas.
