Before we came to this country we where Kings n Queens... We come from Africa Where our blood has flown in vanilla, chocolate and cinnamon.I felt the heat of Africa, the sun's heat of raging fire.I have touched the rain of Africa, the sweetest sound of thunderstorm.I have seen the girls and boys of Africa, with intelligence and a beauty unimaginable.I have dance the music of Africa, around the fireplace with the beating drums.I have sung the songs of Africa and heard children's laugher echoing among the trees.I have swam in themo st treasured blue lagoon of Africa, where mermaids hides beneath Eden's rocks.I have beat the drums of Africa, a rhythm divine for the whole of Africa to hear,I love you Africa.I have seen the passion of Africa, in man's eyes blue, green and brown and black.
I long to go back home, where the drums rhythm so divine, and I will sing along, My home, my land I love you Africa.

Once my foot touches you Africa Iet it be said You look beautiful! ! ! !

I left Mombasa, island of raha (happiness),To emigrate to the West , land of opportunity... For sook the tropical sun For cold frigid weather.Left behind the warm ocean breeze...For the windchill of winter. Abandoned white pristine beaches..For brown muddy shores..Turned away from a turquoise ocean..For polluted lakes.Gave up mangoes, papaya, mabuyu, achari and sunflower..For processed apples, pears, peaches and cherries. Gave up white snapper and king fish 4boxed cod and sole... Gave up mishkaki, nyama choma, mahamri and Mbahazi 4 cereal, bagel, and salads.. Gave up drinking from the coconut And settled for bottled coconut juice.. Deprived of hearing the call to prayer.For the sound of police and fire sirens. Deprived of seeing women clad in mysterious black buibui (black long dress) For women dressed in jeans and miniskirts...Deserted a slow relaxed pace of life For the fast lane. Discontinued a course on the coral marine life.. For a course in stress management... Discarded mud and thatched dwellings For concrete and steel... Left behind a community- based life.. 4 human zoo.. It makes me wonder.. If i have also left my soul behind in Mombasa???
