My mother and father, Rev. Boyd and Virgina McClaren, pastored a church in Britton, OK up until I was a year or two old. Dad then began to travel and evangelize. I traveled with them up until school age, when I went to live with my grandparents, Rev. David and Bessie Thurmond. My grandfather was an awesome teacher, minister, and pastor. Around when I was 10 years old, in 1959 to 1960, dad started traveling with A.A. Allen. Mom and dad sang for Oral Roberts who was just starting out in his Oklahoma crusades. Dad then went into his own evangelistic ministry with R.W. Shambach. In this time of training I listened and learned from these great men of God. I experienced first hand miracles, healings, deliverances, salvations, and people receiving the Baptism of the Holy Spirit by the hundreds. This is the reason why I today believe in the supernatural. At 23 years old I entered into ministry. Before this I had traveled with Southern Gospel Quartets. I have written over 100 songs and had the privilege of having my songs recorded by J.D. Sumner and the Stamps Quartet and the Kingsmen Quartet. I evangelized for 26 years before entering into my time as a pastor. Today I pastor Harvest Time Assembly in Asheville, NC.

Interests

When I was young I loved track and field, including running, relay and pole vaulting. I also loved to play basketball. Later on I wanted to learn to play the organ. My dad had taught me the mandolin, the bull base and electric bass. I also had an interest in piano, but was weary of taking lessons because only girls took them then. I went ahead and took a year and a half of music lessons. I didn't like music as far as reading it. I wanted to play what I heard. I began learning to play by ear and started to apply myself to the organ, which I love. My interests now are walking, playing a bit of tennis, and studying and reading the Word of God.
