INTRODUCTION:

Good afternoon my name is Jeff Pratt and I am going to tell you about a sound that has the power to shift emotions and heal souls which we know as music.
I am going to go over three aspects of music that have changed my life.
BODY;
• History (my music history)
• Listening change (how I have switched from listening)
• Playing = HEALTHY

1. Ever since I was a child I have had a love for music. I remember I would always make noises with my mouth that mimicked a drum set. When I was five I would always ask my older brother if I could go listen to Soul Bait on his stereo and rock out to it. I also recall during elementary school doing homework and singing along with radio Disney.
2. My taste in music changed around seventh grade. My next door neighbor Tony introduced me to bands like (static x, disturbed, audio slave, gorillaz, linkin park, five iron frenzy, techno, three days grace, green day, switchfoot, powerman 5000, STP..)
3. Then in tenth grade I bought a drum set. I tried playing violin and trumpet in elementary school but it was not for me. When I played the drums it took six months to really get into them, after that the rest is history. The drums to me are very relaxing and therapeutic. They allow me to express myself and focus all my feelings and thoughts, hardships and frustrations to create something better, a symphony of bass and percussion.
CONLUSION:
Music is my mistress as you can tell by the three examples I have laid out; she has shaped my history, diversified my listening experience, and inspired me to play my own music.
FINAL THOUGHT:
Music has the power to change everyone's life. I believe this is because music Is the language of the soul. I would encourage everyone to play or try to play an instrument at least once in their life; after all you're never too old to learn.
