7.2 billion damage in a single hit without the "disperse damage" effect is downright crazy and far, far beyond what I was expecting (of which was 2.7 billion, given Maladroit's 1.8 billion under the same conditions). I also get 58 1/4 billion total damage on just 4 targets with a single character in Cave of Ordeal 1, more than doubling my previous record of 25 billion. Amplifying the "awe" of this is also the fact I've practically never touched this game's story. Zero plays of "Psycho's Hideout" is shown at the very end. With "disperse damage", I could very well have about 40 billion damage in a single hit. This is the US PS2 version as well, so that means perfecting items takes a long time (I currently have 24 and counting).
So then, how did all this happen? It all started with Maladroit. Once I got this galaxy skull maxed out with 40 million INT through Rozalin and magic boost, I was getting 1.8 billion damage. Knowing a space knight deals 50% more damage with elemental magic, I thought I'd be doing 2.7 billion damage under the same conditions. Knowing of variable overflow from the past, I knew that the enemies would survive 2.7 billion damage allowing me to gather tons of enemies into a small area and really go crazy on the total damage pretty much anywhere I had the "ATK+50%" effect.
So, I created a space knight so I could do just that, of which the game gave me the random name of Emily. I began perfecting items for her, starting with an omniscient rod, the game's most powerful weapon (due to the 2x staff mastery multiplier). While perfecting items, I was maxing out specialists, particularly tutors. Since I don't have access to Makai Wars (due to no story progress), the super robo suit is the next best thing so I INT-perfected 2 of these. Why not 3? I can't stand a movement of 5. Thus, I INT-quick-boosted an accelerator. This, however, doesn't guarantee the maxing of the INT stat. To do that, I needed 9 maxed tutors. In addition to the maxed tutors, I also have a 25 rune knight lover, a 100 firefighter, a 100 aeronaut, and a few other specialists. Through using Cave of Ordeal 4 in Land of Carnage to quickly level up and reincarnating every 2000 or so levels, I went all out.
Months later, I finally had the 186,000 total levels and began going for level 9999. During this, I'm preparing another space knight so I can get 100 billion total damage, of which was my main, original goal. Once Emily reincarnated the final time, I went for level 9999 while continuing to perfect items and preparing Emily's "replacement". Replacement? Emily is to stay. However, substituting for her exp she'd otherwise gain is another space knight, Melissa (after my second-favorite name).
Once Emily reached level 9999 for the final time, I could finally do the experiment I wanted to do 4 months ago. Under the same conditions as the case with Maladroit, I was expecting 2.7 billion damage. Needing a way to get the stay-in-one-spot combo to max out, I got omega heal for Emily. I used it extensively to max out the stay-in-one-spot combo. Once maxed, I hauled a target over and weakened it toward one element the best I could and attempted. I didn't get 2.7 billion like I was expecting, but way, way, way more. I got about 7 billion. That came as a total shock! Why such a huge difference!? So, I hauled some more pyramids and enemies into the line of fire, dragged out other characters to get the multi-attack combo built up some (a +8 combo means 91/75 the damage), then tried again. This video is the final setup. Strangely, with wind defense at -50 instead of -99, damage was only 2 billion. Last I checked, -99 means another 4/3 as much damage, pointing to 2.7 billion as I originally expected to see. Thus, there's apparently a bug or something causing about 2.6 times more damage.
Now, if I can get an "attack+5" setup with "invincibility" and "ATK+200%" and the like with 9 panels all of one color, I'd really be in for some extreme total damage with 10 such space knights going at it, perhaps 3+ trillion total damage.

1000 hours on the game save at last (1120 actual)! In all that, I have 20 perfected items (with the 21st item in progress), practically never touched this game's story (reflection pond is the last battle I've done in the story), and I've gotten an 11-figure damage popup. That's all done in barely a year (well, 376 days anyway).
This video starts where I'm getting skill mastery for my most powerful character, Emily. She just reached 186,000 total levels and, when done, will easily be doing several hundred million damage, probably even guaranteed 9-figure damage on any enemy, even if wind resistant. Following that is the usual preparations for another round of skill mastery. Saving follows where you'll see I have 1000 hours of play. Showing my extreme number of total plays on Cave of Ordeal 4 is next followed by noting how much story progress I have (which is essentially zero).
