My god....I have this on a tape from the Gabba Gabba Hey show that used to be on Radio na Life about 15 years ago. Never knew who it was. GREAT track. That was a GREAT radio show, btw. Gave me the best musical education I could've asked for.

I prefer this to the Peel version. Both are great but I love the slap bass on this and the harmonies on the "Spent my money...." bit are sublime. WHAT a band, in fairness. It's a sin everyone in Ireland, at least, don't know more about them.

Eh , it's a bit hard to say we never looked like scoring when only heroic defending stopped the two chances shown here from going in, especially the first one! And the second one, for that matter. It was a shocking game, but then, these games against the minnows always are.

@DorianMidnight I was only in the US of A once and I was in San Diego and I saw a dude at the the side of the road with a sign proclaiming him to be a Vietnam Vet asking for money and I'm guessing he was pretty destitute and, well, that's purty sad.

This track is so fucking good it's just unbelievable. Doesn't need a video for sure! Just get it on the headphones, stare into space, listen to the words and you have the whole scene played out for you in your mind. GREAT track to listen to when you're getting psyched up for something to also!

Never listened to much Sonic Youth but I've loved this song since hearing it on a free tape that came with the NME about 1997 or something. Do SY have other good tunes similar to this? I don't care so much for the more straight forward rock tunes I've heard of theirs. ...
