OPEN A PHYSICS TEXTBOOK. Velocity (not speed) is a VECTOR quantity. Acceleration is defined by velocity. That means it is specific to direction. A change in direction is a change in acceleration. Yes, slowing down is a negative acceleration, commonly referred to as deceleration. You really shouldn't comment unless you know what you are talking about... and you're telling me to use my head. Take your own advice.
