Daniel Genuis is a versatile singer/songwriter based in Malta who has been writing songs since the year 2000. These songs have been praised, by the local media, for having catchy verses, soaring choruses, clever lyrics and for being very distinctive in style. Fronting the band Bitterside for most of his career, Daniel has written songs which were received very well in Malta. Charting in Top tens, winning the Best Band Award twice, at the Bay Radio music awards, and also being nominated for the prestigious Best Song-Writer Award at the Malta Music Awards, Daniel' s songs had that special ingredient that made them different from the rest of the lot.

This secret ingredient is Daniel' s unique and versatile voice which at times gives hints of Kelly Jones from the Stereophonics and at other times the striking falsettos of the Bee Gees come to mind! Besides, listening to different types of music helps Daniel to create a song having its own
unique musical direction. Daniel's band Bitterside produced two albums each having 5 powerful singles, which were eventually released to Maltese Radio during the years. The songs produced for the Bitterside band naturally had different moods, however Daniel's voice made these songs have
something in common.

'Song-writing is so exciting! The fact that you have created something which minutes before did not exist, is something which astounds me. Then, when laying tracks on top of each other and start blending other instruments in, it's something which makes the hair on my neck stand still. The songs
I write deal mostly about personal experiences and life itself. I feel that if a song is personal, it gives it that extra factor which the listener looks for today, i.e. a song's individuality. These personal experiences make it easier to write songs with different directions'.

As in Daniel's words 'I feel that in that way I am more in control of my ideas and give the song the direction I really want it to go to without the risk of being misunderstood. Besides, I can also arrange and mix the voice to sound as pristine as it can be'. Needless to say, Daniel is also responsible for playing all the instruments in his recordings and also for the final mastering. In his own words 'It is so challenging and at the same time entertaining for me since when it comes to production I feel like I am always on a learning journey of creativity'.
