About this user

I have always loved animation and how writers like Mike Maltese and John W. Dunn could stretch the bounds of creativity and imagination yet package it into a short, succinct, and entertaining six-minute masterpiece.

I've been writing for some time (much of it geared towards animation) but realize there is no real outlet to turn those words and thumbnail sketches on paper into a finished product unless I do it myself.

Having a full-time job and being beyond college-aged (WAY beyond), legitimate art school and formal education is not an option. So, I've started working my way through "How to Make Animated Films" by Tony White. However, I am hoping to take screenwriting classes at the local community college in the upcoming year.

I will be posting the assignments on here in the hopes that those that do have formal education and/or experience in animation will offer advice...besides "stop animating". :)

If all goes well, I'll intersperse the assignments with pencil and color tests of snippets of short films on which I'm trying to.
